HAVA player improvement

Postby coolson on Sun Mar 16, 2008 7:34 pm

Dear HAVA,

I love the HAVA wireless HD box. I can now enjoy the home country TV programs from oversea.

I would like to see some improvement on the HAVA player.

1. buttons for switching Video inputs
2. buttons for Audio setting.
3. buttons for favorites channel

At the moment, for point 1 and 2. I have to click on Player -> Settings -> and then the right Tab to change the setting. if there is a button on the player to change these setting. that would be very handy!

So as the favorites channels, if you can fit like 5 buttons for favorites channel on the player that will be good too.

I am sure there is still a lot of space for improvement on the HAVA player.

I am really looking forward to it.

Cheers!

Hi Hava,

I have a HAVA Titanium HD WIFI and its great.

I've had a Slingbox for over a year now and must say that the HAVA wireless HD box has move features.

The features that I would like to see added as follows

1. Remote viewing access IP so you don't have to use your ID
2. Audio mode - So that you can disable the display and listen to the audio only
3. Audio settings - So that you can adjust the bit rate used to encode
4. Audio Equalizer - So that I can adjust the audio base on the speakers/headphones I'm using
5. No signal indicator - When do signal is being received a indicator should be displayed. I noticed if my sky_ box is off you can't tell that because the player just shows a black screen
6. View Counter - So you can see how many people are view the feed
7. Master Password - So that only one user can control the remote :) and relinquish control once they disconnect
8. Record Audio - So you can record only the audio

I am a big music fan and I'd like to be able to access my music and movies anywhere I am.

I am looking forward to the new features coming in the future player releases.

Thanks

I would like to see a "Dock Function" for the play so you can dock i ton the side of the screen and continue working using the rest of your monitor. It would make viewing on a laptop more efficent.

Yes, but I ment more, something that had a small screen on the right with a remote unter it like a strip on the side that resized the rest of the desktop to the left of it (Or the other way around) so you can access everything without taking up a lot of screen space. Just a neat thing Sling has that I would use a lot.

The screenshot below shows what I am talking about, the back right shot shows a workable area on the left (Looks like MS Word) with the screen "docked" to the right side and a remote under it.

See how its a small screen with a remote under it.

(Had to trim down the picture fro the original so the forum would show it: http://downloads.slingmedia.com/admin/s ... _modes.jpg

the 1.8 should also be changed graphically, because now it looks ugly, outdated. Too much of that silver in it. thats my opinion.

Yea, with these improvements they can really do a LOT to better the product and open it up to a whole new field. They work on these things and things like multiple recordings (Scheduled and repeating) Preferably with an onscreen guide, and then the ability to watch the recorded content from a separate location via the internet, and I would force all of my friends and family to get this as well.

I use Titanium wifi for local wireless viewing and it works great. Watch tv out on the deck with coffee in the morning while I answer emails and review work.
Agree with above posts. Available fixed sizing options limits value of the Hava program. I use W7 Media Center instead so that I can take advantage of its native ability to reduce screen to any size but that deprives me of the ability to use the virtual remote that is available with the Hava program. Being a Dish subscriber I could sure use that remote to control functions not available through the Media Center functions. Not going to happen though since the loss of screen real estate using the Hava program is a showstopper.
