Not impressed with the fact you have to purchase an external hard drive (1 Terabyte eSATA hd) from Monsoon to attach to the eSATA port adding $100 to the cost. I cannot see why one of the USB ports couldn't have been used with an existing external hard drive, formatted to be Linux compatible or their Linux written to be compatible with NTFS. Plenty of speed with USB 2.0 to handle all R&W needs. Look at my Hava Titanium, WDTV Live, ROKU or Seagate Dockstar and I'm not required to purchase a HD from the manufacturer...

So what happens to users of the old Hava units? Do we still get software updates? Android support? Mac player?

Hmmm...no international pre-order possible ??? That would be great...as a HAVA Titanium owner it would be really nice to have one of the new version here in europe... :-)

Well Samtam you are really being misleading. Where did they say the product is only sold in the USA?

Right now on the myvulkano.com site you can only select the US. I would bet that as soon as they can fill the pipeline and also get the box to Etailers and Retailers it will become more available worldwide.

After months of delays and wait, why cannot I pre-order from Italy?
Any ideas about this apple-like strategy? (with probably different figures)

Hey so
"Stream high-quality video at H.264 and MPEG-4 standards at 150kbps"

Does that mean I can stream 720p?

I am only interested in this or streaming HD or at least very high quality remotely.

Wait and see. Or perhaps go to the website and download the Iphone Ipad player yourself and other players as well. Your correct it's not 8/10/2010 as you can already download them.

Is it that important to watch TV on your phone? I certainly don't. I only use the phone players to demo to customers what channels I have if I don't have my laptop with me. I think it's a nice gimmick for those who like to show off but rarely practical. But then again I don't own a watch either

So the iphone link does not take you to the app. Yet. but that is my point. How long will we wait. More so, will it be compatible with the Hava.

HAVA HOSTING -- Who are you and do you work for Hava/Monsoon? Who are you to decide whether it's important to play the TV over the phone for everyone else? I for one purchased the Hava so that I could watch TV on my phone b/c I travel a lot and do not want to always have to pull out my laptop when I have a half hour to kill and want to watch some TV.

I am not spending another dime on new Hava hardware given the awful software support these players have...so I want a mobile player to use with the almost $300 Hava HD player I already purchased. Do these mobile players for Volkano work with the old Hava models as well???? If not, when will an Android mobile player be available for the Hava players?

Agree 100% with grossn, with the horrible sofware support. And not buying another piece of hardware.

For Monsoon to save face, the need their mobile players to support the Hava hardware, which would make existing users happy or happier, which would generate word of mouth publicity to inspire new sales.

But they just dont get making customers happy.
